Falafel made from yellow split lentils and chickpeas

Tastes good hot and cold and is vegan.

  Method  

  1. Pass the boiled chickpeas through the food processor and place them in a deep bowl.

  2. Add the boiled fava beans and all the other ingredients.

  3. Form walnut-sized meatballs

  4. Arrange on a tray covered with breadcrumbs.

  5. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and shake them back and forth to cover evenly.

  6. Fry them in hot oil until they turn pink and place on a plate lined with kitchen paper.

  7. You can enjoy them hot or cold.

  Ingredients  

1 cup fava beans (190 g) boiled

1 cup of dry chickpeas (190 g)

Soaked and boiled

1 roasted Florini pepper

1 fresh onion

1 tbsp fresh thyme

1 tbsp fresh mint

2 tablespoons of flour

1 tbsp sweet paprika

½ .c. cumin

1 tbsp baking soda

2 tbsp salt

1/2 tsp. bukovo (optional)


For the topping:

½ cup breadcrumbs

oil for frying
