Homemade bread with sourdough

Real bread like in the older days

  Method  

  1. Make yeast if you do not have it. See the recipe here

  2. Add all the ingredients except the salt to the yeast and knead.

  3. Let it rest covered for 3 hours in a warm place

  4. Knead again and add the salt.

  5. Give it the final shape and let it rest covered for 2 to 3 hours in a warm place, until it doubles in volume.

  6. Turn the oven to 230 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

  7. Place a pan with water in the oven.

  8. Lower the temperature to 170 degrees and bake for another 40 to 45 minutes.

  Ingredients  

700gr plain flour

300gr whole meal flour

580ml water at 50 Celsius

15g olive oil

15g salt
